Anyway, this release is a few weeks overdue what the beta testers thought would be the official release date, so glad to see it (especially the clunky old Quicktime X fixes. Anybody using it compared to the legacy Quicktime 7.64 Pro, or VLC Player 1.02 Intel 64-bit version?)

The beachball is an application issue. If you're experiencing it in stock OS X applications, this might help. If you're seeing it in 3rd-party software, almost certainly not.

I use all 3, depending on my needs at the moment. Other than features missing relative to the older player app I don't have any technical issues with the QTX player. (UI is a different story.)

How Apple can break something that's been working well since Tiger is beyond me. I've been tethering my mobile phone since November 2006 and this is ridiculous that I can't connect directly.
Bluetooth connections are flaky at best, as they were prior to Leopard.
Things are better. 10.6.3 does recognise the hardware. It just won't allow me to enter a phone number.

So it wasn't a brilliantly devious bit of marketing after all? All these years they were studying the aggregated results? Color me gob-smacked.
I miss the good old days already. Punching that "Send to Apple" button had such a nice sedating effect, just one click and goodbye burned user and hello Apple field researcher. What do we do now, post- crash? Just relaunch like some Windows schmuck? Could it be? Naa, they're just toying with us again.
