I wonder if they actually added some features into QT X? Or did they leave it simple and stupid.

Glad they got those daylight savings rules for Antarctica fixed. I've been waiting patiently for that. D*mn, it's cold!

Does frog spawn freeze?! :P

Anyway, this release is a few weeks overdue what the beta testers thought would be the official release date, so glad to see it (especially the clunky old Quicktime X fixes. Anybody using it compared to the legacy Quicktime 7.64 Pro, or VLC Player 1.02 Intel 64-bit version?)

I hope this Helps Banish the Spinning Beach Balls of Death. 10.6 has been much worse than 10.5 - MacBook Pro, 2gB RAM, 2.53 GHz Core Duo.

Now, TM tells you (in the menu) how many elements it is "preparing", funny.

The beachball is an application issue. If you're experiencing it in stock OS X applications, this might help. If you're seeing it in 3rd-party software, almost certainly not.

I use all 3, depending on my needs at the moment. Other than features missing relative to the older player app I don't have any technical issues with the QTX player. (UI is a different story.)

Haven't upgraded to 10.6 yet, so I'll be watching the forums to see if the Great Type 1 Font Catastrophe has finally been fixed:

I'd really like to use my MacBook on its own, without being tethered to my 1.33 GHz PowerBook for an internet connection.

How Apple can break something that's been working well since Tiger is beyond me. I've been tethering my mobile phone since November 2006 and this is ridiculous that I can't connect directly.

Bluetooth connections are flaky at best, as they were prior to Leopard.

Things are better. 10.6.3 does recognise the hardware. It just won't allow me to enter a phone number.

The collection of diagnostic information not only grew out of the existing program, it is that program, as of yesterday, or perhaps the early hours this morning (and in 10.6.2).. If others' experience is like mine, the next report you submit will be your last: either you agree to be inspected or you're left standing there, nice nasty crash and no way to report it.
So it wasn't a brilliantly devious bit of marketing after all? All these years they were studying the aggregated results? Color me gob-smacked.
I miss the good old days already. Punching that "Send to Apple" button had such a nice sedating effect, just one click and goodbye burned user and hello Apple field researcher. What do we do now, post- crash? Just relaunch like some Windows schmuck? Could it be? Naa, they're just toying with us again.

Upgrade from Combo. No problems. It doesn't fix the still images problem in iMovie 6HD. Very disappointing.

Not if I can avoid it. But strangely, there are certain files (maybe 25%) that refuse to open in QT 7. What is up with that?!

Upgrade went smoothly from 10.6.2, though I still have this finder spacing problem. I set exactly the same options for every folder, but for some folders I can get 6 items in a row while for others I can only get 5. Very perplexing, kind of annoyed they didn't fix that in 10.6.3... Guess there's always 10.6.4...
