This is great.
I was just about to get a mini for my media centre (my old g5 power mac - WAY too noisy!)
I'm a bit dissapointed that the HDs are not 7200 now, though.
Wonder how easy this one will be to open up?

This is a bit disappointing.
While the new form factor and the removable panel on the bottom are attractive improvements, the increase in price makes it much harder for me to justify the Mac mini as a practical option to the Windows PCs that my employer tends to buy.
The previous model was a similar price to the standard PCs we have been getting while being equipped with a faster processor and graphics hardware. In addition it was easier to fit in an increasingly crowded office.
Now I will struggle to justify Mac minis over standard mini-tower PCs.
I hope the price comes down again soon.

Yay! Entire product line now comes with adequate graphics.
Now game developers have wide enough target, possibly making mac developement a worthwhile investment.
For the price it should of course come with 4GB's minimum, and a remote.

As always, there is more to consider than simple base price when dealing with Apple products.

With HDMI support, maybe Blu-ray is on the horizon! When that happens, I'll buy it since I'll have an inexpensive way to store my AVCHD video - offline.

My only grip is that the SD slot is on the back, which is just a tad less than convenient for anyone who wants to cabinet mount it. Now you have to reach around and fumble for the slot, which is stupid. The back of a machine is for things you plug and forget.

Well, configuration is good, fortunately the FW survived, but the price hike is a major disappointment, not even 4G memory for that money! Apple can ask what they want, it will sell anyway...

I'd just point out that with the ability to go to 8 gigabytes of RAM, you will get five years (or more) easily out of them. Esp. if you are just using them for business applications.
It's a brilliant re-design. It looks to be half the height of the previous mini, yet the integrated the power supply into it and integrated an SD slot!
HDMI is a double bonus. I may break down and get one for my living room now. While I like my Apple TV for the most part, it's just too limited. And slow - the interface with the last couple of updates is pretty laggy

I just saw that the base model is 800 euro here in Europe, that is even more of a disappointment :-(.
