But in my field testing, there was a noticeable difference when better Canon lenses were used, such as the 70-200mm f/4 L. In other words, this is a Rebel that rewards good glass.

Since I already have some basic, "non L-series" lenses, will the T2i be a good choice for replacing a camcorder? That is, is it easy to capture video on the T2i? Can I pull it out of my camera bag and start shooting, much like a camcorder? Or is there a lot of setup with manual configuration to get the image in focus?
I know the results are extraordinary but it is still a bit bulky to carry the body and lenses. Is the extra bulk a fair tradeoff for the results?
Alternatively, I was thinking of getting the Olympus E-PL1, Panasonic's micro 4/3s, or Sony Nex-5. Much smaller and better for traveling and probably better as a camcorder replacement. Can I get comparable image quality from these cameras?
Can someone provide some guidance with first hand experience? I have listened to Mr. Story's podcast and am still having trouble deciding after hearing so much praise for the T2i.
