Are you referring to the irritating misuse of acronymns followed by a redundant word that represents the final one in the acronym? ATM machine? HIV virus?

Yep.

PIN and ATM bug me especially because I've spent far too much of my life writing software for that industry.

Sorry to open up an older conversation.

I am looking to buy a 2011 MacBook Pro, but I will still need to transfer files between it and Windows/Ubuntu computers on a regular basis. Can this be done? How does the drive (this one or any other portable USB HDD) need to be formatted to do this?
Thanks!
