How to transfer contacts from a old iphone to a new one?

hello,i am new here.I am looking for some ways to solve my question.
My brother just got a new iphone and he wants to transfer his contacts to his new iphone, he was doing it manually but seems that he's got a lot. Is there an easy way to do this? Someone introduce a kind of software call tansee iphone transfer contact,which back up my iphone contact to PC,and transfer them from computer to new phone.Did anyone tried out Tansee,and tell more review about it please???

If he syncs his old iPhone with iTunes and then syncs his new iPhone on the same computer with the same iTunes account it will ask him if he wants to restore from the backup which will transfer all his contacts onto the new phone.

Here's the steps:

1. Sync old iPhone with iTunes.
2. Sync new iPhone on the same computer with iTunes.
3. iTunes will ask you if you want to restore from a backup. Select yes.
4. Let the sync complete and your new iPhone should have all the contacts from your old phone.

Do you still have the old iPhone? Why not switch the SIM cards? Then there's an option for importing contacts from the SIM.

Also, you could sync your old iPhone with the Address Book on your Mac, and then sync the new iPhone, telling iTunes to have the Address Book transfer info to your iPhone. That gives you the added bonus of now having your contacts in your Address Book. That means easy editing while you're on the computer.

I believe Cloud synching already solves this issue for other people going through an upgrade or a swap.

My first post, as I found this forum looking for advice on a contact transfer/sync question. I can already tell this will be a useful forum and I am pleased to have just joined.

My issue is this: How would this contact/transfer best be handled in this slightly different situation?

I have two iPhones. An older 3G and a newer 4GS. Each has a different set of contacts. Each was on a separate account with AT&T.
I have shut down the account on the 4GS device.

I will to now have a person at my nearby ATT store activate the 4GS phone on the old number that is still in use, and then the old 3G phone will be no longer used. I have already confirmed they will readily do this for me.

Each phone has different contacts.
I routinely sync the older 3G with my macbook pro.
I have connected the 4GS device to the same macbook, and backed it up.

How can I get all the contacts combined onto the newer 4GS phone?
