Ok, I just wrote the rant, see below. It's not really a rant, because I love the game! I won two seasons with the Niners on Pro, and am about to try the "Madden" difficulty (yikes!). The game is loads of fun. I need to get my son to want it so I can do head-to-head over bluetooth with him! But there are a few annoyances.

I have no problem with tapping the screen to pass the video in the beginning of the game. In fact, until you mentioned it, I had completely forgotten its existence. Many games have something to dismiss, and I'm just happy that you CAN dismiss them. I also don't mind tapping to dismiss the celebrations; I'm glad they have them, and I'm glad I can tap to dismiss them.

What I do have a problem with (and you didn't!) is the commentary. It's horrendously repetitive! For instance: they have two things they say for 2-pt conversions: One if it fails, and the other if it's successful. I hear it a lot! There are a whole lot of other examples (send SASE and I'll mail 'em to ya ;) ). And way too frequently, Madden will say, "This one will either be a run or a pass, depending on the coach's gut feeling..." Run or a pass? Really? All the time?

Just as bad commentary-wise, the announcer will often say it's an incompletion, but the receiver will come up with the ball! Way too frequently. Sometimes on a little swing pass to Gore that gains 1-3 yards, the announcer will say "Going - going - gone!" Or some such (I'd've thought I'd have that memorized by now).

The commentary, for about 3 games*, is fun. After that, you've heard it all too many times. I loved the commentary at first, but now I turn the volume down.

*Actually, I forgot when I decided I'd heard it all way too many times. I wish I could download a Commentary Pack!
