Wow. Those are horrid. The radical one literally says "Designed for radicals"... WTF does that mean?!
These are the equivalent of the stickers you see on trucks where Calvin is peeing on (insert competing car company logo).

The video ad for these things should star a Spinal Tap-looking guy with the fake British accent. That would make the image complete.

Skin Apparel... proof that all you need is a Dover clip art book of Victorian elements, the font Fette Fraktur and about 10 minutes in Photoshop, and you too can be a successful apparel company! Come on Iomega... if you're going to pair with an apparel company why not one with respectable art!

I own 2 of these drives..they are meant to be fun and different from the boring, plain sterile looking hard drives you normally buy. I think they are conversation pieces and always get an inquiry when I take them out of my briefcase for a meeting. Lighten up.

I bought 1 of these when they first came out. The designs are cool but the drive is lightning fast. The price was right for USB 2 and I think its much better than the plain jane ones from Buffalo or Lacie (mentioned in the article above). I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion though. I hope other manufacturers bring out hardware that is different and design based. Couldn't hurt.

Design appeal is purely a matter of personal taste/choice. But its high-speed performance cannot be denied by any user irrespective of whether they like its cover design. What’s wrong in making it appealing for a “younger, hipper demographic” as long as it serves the intended purpose of doing what it should. Skin range is a refreshing break from the old fashioned appeal. Likely that this trend will catch on and more such innovations be introduced by others as well. Esthetics aside, I felt it is a great-speed gadget worthy of being flaunted for its workability.
