That depends on if you have a plastic one with Intel graphics or one of the newer ones with Nvidia or ATI. If the former, good luck. Otherwise, it should be OK. Team Fortress 2 plays passably on my MBP 13 2.4 C2D Nvidia.

I've got the MBP 2.6 Core2 with the Geforce 8600M GT 512MB, and LFD2 flies on my Windows Vista partition with Dox's Nvidia drivers http://forums.laptop...ware-releases/. It is sluggish on OSX, and I doubt Apple will try and significantly improve driver performance on the older systems. If you have a Windows partition, enthusiasts repackage Nvidia's drivers for laptop installation, and even the latest games run well enough on my system (largely thanks to the 512MB). Steam allows you to play both the Mac and Windows version when you buy it, so you can always try it on both partitions (provided you set up a Steam account on both).

LFD and LFD2 are regularly on sale for $5 each every couple of months. Not a huge risk at those prices. Check and see if you have a 512MB card, that will help the most if you want to run at high settings. Be prepared to cool the underside of you MBP as well.

I play on a 2010 13" Macbook Pro (4GB, 320m) and I find it's appreciably slower under OS X than Windows 7 on the same machine. I lose about 14 FPS under OS X using lower settings and there are a lot of glitches. I'm sure some of this will be cleaned up by Valve given some time and maybe Apple can fix up the drivers. Another problem I notice is that this game eats memory. Where I can easily play this game and have memory to spare under Windows, not so under OS X. I'm swapping immediately after launching the game.
