I own the Sony SLT-A55 and I can tell you it freaking rocks. It's got everything you'd expect it to have, but it's just powerful. My favorite camera for sure.

I have the SLT-33, and love it. I previously had the Canon T1i, and found that camera's size and cost a problem. The A-33 has very high quality images, is of a size that fits my hands well, uses Minolta lenses as well as Sony, and is fun. The autofocus in video mode makes it a creative tool.
There are a couple of things that hopefully the next version will correct, including making the lcd screen articulate to the side, so one can use a tripod, somehow quieten the autofocus as its noise is a problem, and make the hot shoe standard size.
Yeah, like the last will ever happen.
