I use Posterino all the time, certainly for posters, but also for smaller-size photo layouts that I print or e-mail. I really love the program -- it does just what it's supposed to do, and does it pretty elegantly.

I enjoy using Picnik.com for these kinds of things, they have lots of templates and photo editing capabilities. While the iPhoto integration is great for iPhoto users, I dislike iPhoto, so I'm curious how easy it will be to use Posterino with Picasa.

How is this better than the free Picasa from Google? I made some great poster collages for my daughters for last Christmas and had them printed to poster by UPS.

Posterino has more templates, more customization, integration with iPhoto...all the stuff mentioned in the article that Picasa doesn't have.

There really is no comparison. It has a far greater range than you can ever achieve with Picasa.

Having also used Google Picasa to make collages I found that Posterino gives you control over:

  • layouts
  • backgrounds
  • POSITIONING
  • Random creation of additional boxes for images

Picasa only gives some much creation and then takes over when you click on shuffle. Sometimes spending a few bucks can make a big difference on the quality of your design.

yeah, I agree, it does seem pricey for the casual user to purchase it. Seems more like a 10 or 15 dollar type app with such narrow functionality.

I bought Posterino a few years ago when our daughter got married. I created a poster with the best shots from the wedding. I never look at their wedding album book but I see that poster every day on the freezer door in my laundry room. I love the ease of using Posterino, the variety of paper sizes and the capability to create my own layouts. i highly recommend it!
