Can't understand why iTunes doesn't do this already.

"Print a Web page you want to read later to PDF, add it to iTunes, then sync it to your iPad."
Or, use Instapaper, Read Later, etc. There are several free web services for that, and they have apps for iOS and other mobile platforms.
As for Spins, you could also the free Last.fm, which has scrobble add-ons that work with iTunes.

So I downloaded and installed PDF Adder then used it to locate and add two PDFs that now appear in iTunes Books.
But when I hook up my iPhone, select the iPhone in iTunes devices, select the Books tab and click to tick the Sync Audiobooks checkbox - I get the warning "Are you sure you want to sync Audiobooks? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPhone will be removed."
I have no books on the iPhone but don't want to loose my songs etc.
Can anyone tell me how serious this Apple warning is and what I should do?
thanks

I use this one a lot to clean up tags. When I rip classical CDs, they often contain the composer’s name at the beginning of the track names. I don’t need this info, so I count how many characters there are, then run this script.
You may want to look at a script that would keep you from having to count the number of characters in a composers name, thus saving you time.
It is "Search/Replace Tag Text" Copy the composers name from one track, select all the tracks with that composers name, run this script, paste in the copied name, replace it with nothing, all the composers names will disappear from the beginning of those tracks.
You mention the scripts are free, but I've always made a donation when I've download several scripts, it is worth it to support such an excellent Macintosh resource.

Re Search/Replace Tag Text, you're right. However, I find that it's much slower, since it actually has to search rather than just strip characters.

There are a dozen more I could have mentioned in the article, if I had room. Though personally, I have never needed that script.

That one was included in one of the older articles linked to near the end of the story.
