How did you get an update for the new Apple TV already? Mine still says the software is up to date!

Does this allow an iPhone to play music through an airport express?

@redgeminipa: Apple handed me an AppleTV with the software on it, that's how. :-)

@HjalteM: Yes, it should.

"Does this allow an iPhone to play music through an airport express?"

Yes, doing it now with an old Airport Express (802.11B/G), works fine.

"I was able to stream audio and video to an Apple TV from a Mac running iTunes 10 without any trouble."

I have an old Apple TV and this worked even before iOS4 en iTUnes 10.

I'm wondering if it will work with apps like Stream To Me, which transcodes video files to play on the iPhone/iPad, and seems to support AirPlay. I'm hoping that the transcoded stream can be sent on from the mobile device to the AppleTV, though Stream To Me may need an update first. If that works, then you could play any video file you have on your computer on your AppleTV through an iPhone or iPad.

@reynaertdevos1973: I meant pushing the video from the iTunes side, not pulling it from the Apple TV side. Could you do that before?

So you weren't able to stream arbitrary H.264 content to your Apple-TV? :(

Streaming audio/video from the Movies or Youtube app to your Apple-TV is neat, but streaming ANY H.264 content from Safari, or rather the system-wide media player would be AWESOME!

I hope this will be available soon...

OK, I understand, that's new. Now I understand more what has changed. I can only start a movie from the apple tv (for instance with the remote that came with the product). That's pull, but no big deal for me after all.

Does Hulu Plus work with AirPlay and the Apple TV?
