Anyone considering the excellent Canon G12 or Panasonic DMC-LX5 should also consider the Samsung TL500. I just bought one and it is astonishingly good. It has a F1.8 lens for low-light photography, 24 mm-equivalent wide angle and articulating view screen. What I love most are the photos its taking.

I recently bought the Pentax X90. It's a fine camera for under $330.

Ironically they didn't list the Samsung NX100, which was on their list as a best buy for compact DSLR only three weeks ago. I point one based on that recommendation (plus I got it cheap), and its a pretty good camera, although I think the Olympus PL-1 has a better grip.

Your reporters need to know the terminology. The "p" in 1080p means "progressive" which means 60 frames per second. You can't say 1080p at 30fps.
