I purchased the Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 device in November of 2010. A few months later the device recommended a firmware upgrade which I did-- then the problems began. I was suddenly unable to use the wireless Internet to access Netflix. In June 2012 I tried once again to use the wireless Internet to connect to Netflix which did not work. Before buying a new device, I researched the issue and discovered that many people had the same problem with this device. The recommendations on the Insignia website did not work for me. The settings menu to set up the wireless internet connection is seriously flawed. I reset the device to factory settings which did not work to solve the problems. I moved the device away from other devices. I unplugged the ATT-Uverse router. I downloaded the latest firmware update from December 2011 from the Insignia website onto a USB then plugged it into the Insignia device and the device immediately recognized the update but the wireless internet feature would not accept the password for the wireless internet device. I kept getting a "Connection...Timeout" error message. The Insignia device could see my wireless and several of my neighbor's wireless devices but would not accept the password for my wireless internet. Finally, I removed a DVD that was loaded in the tray, turned, unplugged and replugged all connected devices including the HDTV, rebooted the wireless Internet hotspot device, and turned the Insignia device off and on again-- then suddenly I was able to go to the same settings menu, select my wireless internet connection, input the password-- and the Insignia device accepted the password and I was able to select Netflix, get the Netflix code, go to Netflix on my laptop, select my profile and add the insignia device, input the code, then suddenly I could use Netflix on the Insignia device without any problems. If this information has helped you in any way please respond to let me know. Note that even my 2 high tech computer saavy sons could not solve the problem. This device is tricky to work with if you update the firmware. If your device is working fine out of the box take this advice about updating the firmware: If it ain't broke-- don't fix it. If you have the same problem I recommend doing everything I did including removing all DVDs in the tray and all connections and wires that may interfere with the device then turning the device off and on again even if you have done so already. The December 2011 firmware update did not cause any additional problems so I can recommend it. I hope my story with the Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 was helpful to others. The Insignia NS-WBRDVD2 is low cost and shows good quality video but you may have problems if you update the firmware.
