The sleeve weighs only five ounces. That is 141.75 g.

I use a padded shipping envelope (ULINE S-9988 bubble mailer) for my 13" MBA. Fits great. I cut the flap off to improve ease of access, yet the computer must be pulled out and won't slide out. Also made a few minor changes with packing tape to improve carry-abiliity. I'm sure there are padded envelopes that fit the 11" MBA as well. For now I'm happy with the DIY approach.

And your approach doesn't cost 30.00 dollars for pennies worth of material.
