I thought the video mirroring was also available on the iPad 1 with the HDMI adapter.

The landfill? I would hope not!
But, for those people who just want an iPad and don't need the latest and greatest, I'm guessing there will be some deals next week online as some people upgrade.

@HarryFuller - the HDMI adapter works with the iPad 1 (and iPhone 4 and iPod touch 4th gen), but only in the way that the other video adapters work - with supported apps. The video mirroring of the entire iOS screen is only iPad 2 right now.

Yup, which one is it Jason? You stated the video out worked with the original iPad but then stated presenters would want to upgrade...
