LISTEN!!!! IF YOU WANT VOTES THEN DON'T BE GOING ROUND AND POSTING THIS TOPIC IN EVERY FOURM!!!!
this topic belongs only in the game place....
I won't vote now, because of YOUR actions..... THINK!!!!!... you won't get any support unless you respect the MacWorld Fourms and its rules.... ONE OF WHICH IS NO MULTIPLE POSTS!!!!
buy a P.C. I am disgusted to think a mac user would act like you have and wants to play the sims online..... BTW I read someplace that they were working on doing what you are petitioning for.....
Thats enough,

Some game companies do seem to make narrow minded decisions. To clarify, they may base their decision to sell games for the Mac on a crappy game. Seeing the low sales, they then won't make their better games Mac compatible. This has happened with software companies such as Valve... and it may happen again with Sony Online Entertainment (EverQuest) and Star Wars Galaxies. Why did Westlake Interactive choose to port Everquest instead of Star Wars Galaxies???

Prius:

Westlake doesn't make those decisions -- they port the games that publishers want to see on the Mac.

In other words, it was Sony's decision to port EverQuest, not Westlake's.

With regards to Sims Online, people need to exercise some patience. These decisions aren't made in a vacuum. So far, every Sims game that has come to the Macintosh has been done by Aspyr Media, not EA.

The franchise is a huge seller for Aspyr. It's absurd to think that they're NOT negotiating the Mac rights to Sims Online with EA. If and when a deal is concluded successfully, then Macintosh work will start on the title.

In other words, just chill out and please try to understand how business gets done in the Macintosh games market. Simply because you hear that work isn't being done on a Mac version of a game, that doesn't mean that the game WON'T come to th eMac.

Very true Peter. I do wonder if mac users will be segregated if/when it comes out as I believe it uses DirectPlay. That may well be a factor when it comes to porting it. It isn't a lot of fun to throw yourself into the ocean without other lemmings to accompany you.
Gawd I hope this game fails miserably but I admit that I definately do not have the pulse of the apathetic masses who keep buying this crap.
