I need to limit my son from having access to XBOX online gaming during a school week as he needs less distractions!! Is it possible to limit the internet access for the XBOX using the settings for the Netgear VMDG280 Router? if so how can I do this? many thanks.

I don't own that router so I don't know what settings it has but you could try having the router use OpenDNS as the DNS service then take advantage of their parental controls.

Another option is depending on your router to just ban the XBox hardware ID so it cannot connect although I don't know if you can automate this to certain times some routers can some cannot.
