Wow. Never actually thought I'd see the day Jobs was alive and not CEO.

It is sad. I can only assume the worst.
He's a hero to me not for making cool stuff, but for following his vision. A true individual who believed in himself.
Argh.

Tim Cook has been "iCEO" off and on for years now. No reason to think Apple can't continue knocking hits out of the park even as Steve takes a less-active role in the company. I hope Steve's health improves if possible and, if not, that he keeps living life as best he can on his terms.

His resignation will carry reverberations around the world. I so hope that it isn't because of any serious downgrade to his health. I hope he has just decided to go out on top. What an outstanding leader of technology, a man of tremendous vision. Tim Cook has gigantic shoes to fill. I wish him well.

What matters is Steve's health. I wish him and his family well. And I thank him for working so hard to change the world in the dynamic way that he has.

I am hopeful for Apple as Steve Jobs has made the company what it is today. I know Apple will still be a great company without Steve as CEO but I still don't believe it will be the same. I am glad to hear that he will still stay on at Apple and not resign completely from the company he so greatly created.
