I don't understand why, when I make changes to some Google+ privacy settings, the changes are not saved.

For example, Go to privacy settings, click the rectangle "Edit network visiblity"

On the right side of the screen, click the words "Where are you on the web?"

Select "Only you" and click SAVE - a yellow message appears "Profile saved successfully", so you think the changes have been saved, but actually they haven't.

To test it, now go back in, and you'll see that the setting has reverted back to what it was originally. i.e. the privacy changes are not saved.

I've given feedback to Google close to a dozen times over a period spanning three months. I can't start using Google+ until this is fixed.

Google please buy Facebook, or vice versa, so I don't have to split my attention so much. Thanks!

Open to everyone...except people under 18, because apparently we don't count as people. Even though we're probably the largest segment that uses social networking sites.

If Google ever allows me to create a profile and keep it private, except for who I want to see it, then I will consider it.

Actually, no. This study, done in 2010, showed your age group ranked fourth in social media use behind those in their 30s, 40s and 20s. Most social networkers are between 35-55.

The "Everybody" statement is just false.
I'm lucky to be over 18 years of age, but many of my friends are not. Which means no Google+ for them because Google restricts all of it's services to people over 18.
With google search they can't control the users age, but with YouTube and Google+ they can :|

From where I'm sitting, that's not a bug, that's a feature.

And just like with MySpace and Facebook, anyone under the age of 18 just set their age as 18. The legal requirement has not stopped anyone posting their life away on either social network.

If you're under 18, don't waste your time texting or in social sites. Go and enjoy your Youth!!!

Or you'll be sitting in front of your computer later in life typing melancholic thoughts on how you never enjoy your Youth, parties, travels, and all those 'first-time-ever' moments!

I'm almost sure I missed this somewhere, but is there a particularly scientific or sociological reason why a maximum of only 5,000 "friends" can be "circled"? Was this arbitrary limit copied from another extremely popular networking site?
