"There’s no way to tell the iPhone 4S to shoot at a lower resolution"uploading

Wow - that could be a major issue: only 1080P and no 720P? It takes about 2.4 times as much data to save one frame of 1080P compared to 720P, if the same compression is used. If you've ever uploaded a 720P movie to You Tube you know what slow process that is: uploading a 1080P movie could be a real bear, to say nothing about how fast you'll eat up your iPhone 4S storage while shooting movies.. 1080P is really not a good consumer format - actually it's not even good for commercial videos going online, primarily because of the large increase in file sizes and data rates. The cable companies get around bandwidth problems by using such high compression rates that what we get from them is fake HD. Most video delivery pipelines have a fixed maximum bandwidth and I'd much rather get more data per pixel with 720P rather than more highly compressed 1080P.

If indeed there is no 720P option on the iPhone 4S, then Apple has completely ignored video delivery in favor of providing an over-hyped selling point of "higher resolution video."

And yet, it doesn't support Verizon's 4G LTE network. To me, that's a dealbreaker that will keep me in my 3GS until the iPhone 5 is released next spring.

I love that I wasn't the only one who noticed that it put iPhone 4 ass into the Notes app. LOL

Thanks for the review. Siri looks to be a good start, but more integration with other services is needed. I am due to get a 4S on Friday - can't wait.

Yes, if you want LTE this is not the phone for you. Keep waiting!

No Siri and no speech to text dictation without Internet? That is a shame. I thought they would be doing it onboard, thus the requirement for the 4S, as that phone would be the only thing with enough horsepower to do it. I still spend a number of hours a month in locations without Internet access.

Did you test with using Siri while actually in a running car? My success with the current IOS 4 voice recognition with my car's Bluetooth is pretty poor. I'm sure it is a lower voice quality microphone than the built-in mic, so I'm wondering if Siri will do a better job with the poor mic.

It appears that the photo taken with the iPhone 4 is sharper than that taken with the 4S. Could that be due to the relative size of the two images?

Look at the left on the left. It's far sharper on the 4S.

There's no guarantee that the iPhone 5 will have LTE either.

I agree. I quit shooting even 720p on my P&S - where I connect direct to computer to offload - and the files are huge for the purpose much of the time. I routinely shoot in 640x480 now - and it's kind of hard to believe not being given this option on a 16 GB device. If it can be done on every sub-$200 P&S camera, it could easily be offered as a mode here. An oversight? Or the old Apple "don't confuse 'em with options and ideas about things like file size/quality trade-offs and such"?
