Only gripe I have with notifications is that there is no way (that I could find) to have the notification bar STAY there until all the alerts are cleared. Seems to me like the disappearing bar doesn't help much unless you're constantly staring at the screen, in which case notification center becomes redundant.

My daughter's iPad upgrade crashed, too. She hasn't tried the iPhone yet. I am 2 1/2 hours into my own iPad upgrade, showing a half hour to go. I would hate to see it crash after all this time.

If you can't choose what calendar to sync what does it show? Every calendar event for a day? Is there control over how many days to show?

The last paragraph seems to suggest that you can pull down the Notifications pane by swiping the top of the Lock screen. You cannot. That action only works in the springboard or an app, irritatingly.

It looks like the "Reminders" app only gives its notifications as the big-blue-box of previous iOS iterations. Is there a way to make the Reminders notifications appear like all the other notifications: as a banner that flips in briefly and then gets archived to Notification Center?

In iOS 4, I could turn off notifications so I wouldn't be woken up at night by the sounds. Is there an easy way to do that in iOS 5, or do I have to turn them off app by app?

Turn on Airplane mode at night.

While you can see weather information in the Notification Center screen, I was sorry to see that you could not get weather on the Lockscreen.

I was hoping it would display weather like the excellent (jailbreak) LockInfo program.

The reason why I have my iPhone next to my bed is because I'm on-call. Turning on Airplane mode doesn't help because I will not be reachable anymore.
In some apps, you can turn off the sound, in others you can't... The choice of having a sound yes or no should be with the user, not the app developer or Apple....
Right now, if I can't turn off the sound in settings, I delete the app from notifications...

I agree. iOS on the iPhone needs a "Night" mode where all notifications are stopped but your phone still takes calls.
