Its an awesome printer, I have one. The WiFi option is pretty cool and works perfectly on my Mac.

Mr Galbraith,

I have long enjoyed your thorough and objective reviews of the Apple computers and will freely admit I do not recall if you reviewed the iPads and iPods/iPhones. In your fine review of the Epson 2000 I have to admit I am confused as to whether the lack of dedicated grey inks is a "Con" or not. Do competitors in this price offer grey inks and your own assessment of B&W photos "looking very good" would suggest otherwise, no?

Should you have the time or the yen to respond to this I'd appreciate it understanding full well it is alot to ask of a member of the press to respond to individual responders.

Again, thank you for all of your superior reviews.

Full disclosure- I work for no one that allows me to benefit from this item in any way- Went to Epson website to get more info on this printer and noted the R2000 now has a $150 USD rebate so the net cost is $350 USD. I know the box below cites Epson site as selling these for $499 USD but that is before their rebate and no I didn't check every other retailer noted above and below to see if the rebate is available through there companies as well.

Lastly, for those interested in the *R3000* as it uses the broader range K3 UltraChrome inks Mr Galbraith mentioned it is now $649 USD after a $200 USD rebate (full retail is $849 USD). Apologies if this comes across as pimping it's just that I thought it was something good to share with this forum.

Thanks for the tip, pawhite524, $150 is a big discount -- always happy to hear about a deal!

(Darn, this "reply" feature is a bit confusing -- sorry for the extra post)

What's the max paper width. Will it do 13 X 19?

Great review. BUT there is no discussion about any improvement made to the print head durability. Our company has the R1900 and for the first year of operation the prints were excellent. We use ONLY epson supplies but have had a constant problem with head clogging. The technical support provided by Epson is poor at best and the other day the technician told us that we should give up on the 1900 and buy the 2000 and he would give us $200 towards the new printer if we traded in the R1900. If I add up all of the wasted ink and time used to keep this printer operating I could of purchased at least ten R2000 printers! We are currently changing printers to start the new year -- 2012 has to be better than 2011!
