Interestingly enough, I agree with the general concept of the app as you describe it; essentially it's set up the way I think when I'm writing.

I've tried using Scrivener and even Write Room and quite honestly failed because they distract more than assist the writing process for me. I'm not the sort to plan out every aspect of my stories before I set finger to keyboard and Scrivener in particular almost forces you to try, while Write Room gives you all the freedom to write, but seems to leave organization remarkably absent.

Currently I'm using Story Mill, though were it not for certain Mac app packaging sites online I might not have been willing to purchase even that due to it's own high up front price. That is my only complaint with the idea of purchasing this app. At $40 for little (if any) more app than the iPad version, I really don't see enough benefit to justify the price. As a result, I'll just have to wait and see if one of my different package sites will include it in their next collection.

It sounds like Manuscript is a technique app, forcing one particular approach to writing one particular type of book (a novel). I much prefer Scrivener's 'give you the tools and you decide how' approach.

With Scrivener, different templates allow you to use particular writing techniques, but the app itself doesn't force them on you.
