One thing I've noticed about 'ineligible' podcasts is that if you had a regular playlist that contained 1 or more podcasts and that playlist was set to sync to your iOS device, then it will no longer sync. The podcasts can still be synced, and will be available from the Podcasts section of the iOS Music app, but the playlist will disappear from the iOS device.

This is a major pain to those of us who frequently make playlists of podcasts.

So, if I download a higher bit-rate version of a song and delete the original, what happens when/if I cancel iTunes Match in the future?

You keep the new higher-bit-rate file. There's no DRM.

Thought I'd try it.
Got "Not accepting new subscriptions".
Oh well.

How will it work with multiple iTunes accounts? What will happen with song bought with the other account?

More on this to come, but we've had some surprisingly good results.

Is the iTunes Match a one time deal? Is it best to get all the music you can into iTunes before upgrading to 10.5.1?

Nope, it lasts the entire year (once you pay) and then keeps going after that. I kept finding more stuff and tossing it into the pot, and it worked fine.

Some of my AAC files are not eligible. They're just music files, though I admit they're at 64 kpbs and mono audio. Probably not high enough quality too match the sound frequencies close enough in the music. Plus copied music aren't usually high quality.

Can Match be made to replace track metadata with the authoritative values?

Does it treat the same song, but from a different album (eg. on the original album and a Best Of album) as a duplicate? Similarly, will a song ripped from an unknown (by Apple) compilation album be matched against the version from the original album?
