I've been happily burning CDs using Toast 5.1.1 and my Que!Fire burner for months now, and suddenly I'm getting the message, "No CD REcorder found" in both Toast and iMusic.

How do I trouble-shoot this?

OK, I know the cable is working because my Que!Fire 20G removable drive is daisy-chained through the burner.

So what else!?

UBB Forums rule! I always get good advice here. Thanks in advance!

I don't know,

When My burner doesn't show up I just restart toast.

Before upgrading my version of Toast I was having problems in OSX but it worked fine in Classic. Now since upgrading to 5.1.3 or whatever the latest is I'm getting "RECORDER NOT FOUND" in both OS's!!!

Should I remove Toast and try re-installing it? And are there extensions in Classic that should be turned off? Also in OSX so you dont get that "disk unreadable do you want to intialize or prepare for burning"???

When this happens on my Mac I turn the burner (La Cie firewire) off and then on again. Then Toast recognizes it.

Hi! I wrote the original question. I felt really dumb when I turned the burner off and then on again. It worked perfectly after that.
