What? You're not still sharing the Superguide with us at http://dl.dropbox.co...Superguide.pdf? Oh, well, maybe I can ask your father for it.

I already gave Macworld.com the gift of Dropbox sharing; surely that fulfills my holiday quota for the year!

Dropbox is marvelous. It's ended the hassles of keeping a common set of files on my desktop and laptop. And since that Dropbox folder is just another folder on my desktop, what I save on my laptop ends up on my desktop AND gets backed up by Time Machine.

Don't forget that although its just a folder on your computer, Dropbox does save your previous versions and deleted files for up to 30 days (or longer with the paid Pack-Rat option)

BTW, as another poster mentioned, getting extra free space is the way DropBox 'encourages' new users (who will hopefully upgrade). While you can send 'invites' to friends, sending them a URL to a file is another way to encourage them to join and thus boost your free space. I think I now have 4.5GBs. ;-)

There's no problem with your version. I'm using only v1.1.45 and I see it. In fact, this has been a feature for a very long time.
Make sure in the Finder, in the contextual menu you see when you control-click (or right-click), that you first see the Dropbox submenu and then look for "Copy Public Link" within that submenu.
Also, you must be in Finder for this to work. It doesn't appear to work in Path Finder (a Finder replacement).

BTW, early on, I was confused between Apple's Drop Box and Dropbox. I don't suppose Apple's Drop Box can do what Dropbox can do. Right?

Thanks for the reply. I discovered the reason that "Copy Public Link" wasn't appearing: I was highlighting a folder rather than a file. When I go into the folder and highlight an individual file, then Control-click on the file, I get the "Copy Public Link." I also found out that only files, not folders, can be shared. Oh well...
