Insync targets Dropbox with new file-syncing service

I have been using both Insync and Dropbox for quite a while (at least a year). I love Dropbox and never had a problem with it. When I heard about Insync, the concept of storing and syncing Google Docs locally was brilliant. It's been rough going through all the betas but I can say that the latest is a solid product. If you want to be able to store and edit your Google docs locally, Insync is it.

I just want to clear something up, you can store any files using Insync just like Dropbox, not just Google docs.
I signed up the other day and have already paid just $5 for 20gb of storage and will stop using Dropbox as soon as I am completely happy Insync is as stable, so far I have had no problems.

Not feeling warm and fuzzy about the company yet. Real problem with the location and security concepts (or lack thereof) as well as any real world experience outside of beta.

Their website tells me nothing about their service. But in order to sign-up for Insync they want my gender, my DOB, my language, my timezone, and access to all my Google contacts. They also want to access that data even when I'm not using their service.
Why should anyone trust these guys with their data?
