Dan, You might clarify two things: I believe "Share my library on my local network" should *not* be checked in iTunes Preferences > Sharing if Home Sharing is turned on; and, any difference between "Automatic Download" options in Preferences > Store and Home Sharing > Settings?
Thanks
Thanks

Thanks for the video. Good stuff. I have been meaning to do this at home for sometime.
My questions: With 4 laptops in the house each with their own iTunes accounts.
Can each of their iTunes purchased songs be listened to on each laptop?
Can the songs be transferred to each laptop?

Share my library on my local network and Home Sharing are two different options, and both can be enabled at the same time. Share my library allows any Mac on the network to play music from the other Mac, but files cannot be copied from the host Mac. Home Sharing requires all Macs on the network to be logged into the same Home Sharing Apple ID in order to play AND copy files from the other Mac. Share my Library does not require all Macs to be logged into Home Sharing, they only need to be on the network. The Home Sharing icon and Share my Library icon are different. The Home Sharing is a House icon, the Share my Library icon is a shared playlist icon.

My Logitech Harmony remote does a fine job controlling my AppleTV2, as well as everything else. Easier than using my iPod Touch, when I already have the Logitech remote in hand. The remote app does have benefits, like when I am listening to music through the AppleTV2, without the TV. The Home Sharing has made the remote app easier to use, since you no longer have to enter a code into iTunes to pair the device for the remote.

I have one imac with a login for myself, spouse and child. With sharing,do the files need to be imported to that library in order to add songs to a playlist and will this take up more 'space' on the mac and duplicate the files (X3)? Some of our playlists contain the same songs. If my child decides to 'import' a CD will it automatically save it to my library or just to her specific itunes library?
