I was prepared to like this app because of the competition it, and others like it, will give to Adobe, which seems to be taking its users and its market for granted these days. However, the problem of making every effect permanent after applying it is (would be) a deal breaker for me, despite the attractive price and expansive feature set. Perhaps it would not be a big deal for someone who has never used a product with an effective history feature or non-distructive editing. But Photoshop crossed that bridge many years ago, and it's easy to get spoiled by the flexibility of non-distructive image editors like Lightroom. Nik is a well established company with a reputation for innovation and quality. I would expect them to do better. Non-destructive editing is probably impractical on iOS devices due to limitations in CPU power, RAM and storage. But there are no such barriers on the Mac.

I haven't really given this app a long try, mainly because I'm so satisfied with FX Photo Studio Pro. Non destructive as well. I use it and the other Macphun apps a lot and can't find a reason that this very hyped app will be as good. Maybe it does things that I haven't discovered.

Someone wrote on the App Store review that it didn't allow you to save a full resolution version.
This is from the snapseed FAQs:

In Snapseed, what resolution are my photos saved as?

Any photos enhanced with Snapseed will be saved at the same resolution as the original photo up to what your iPad will allow. An iPad 1 can save an image up to 6.25 megapixels and an iPad 2 can save an image up to 16 megapixels. If your image is larger then your iPad supports, the image will be downsampled to the maximum supported megapixels.

So I suppose if you're working on a 20megapixel raw file and want to save the 60MB tiff you'll have a problem. Otherwise...one more negative comment that doesn't withstand clarification. If people would stop insisting their iPad replace their desktop or laptop it would save soooo much consternation.

Does it it run in 10.7.2 but not support versions & autosave?

Or do you mean it just doesn't have a private undo? (but you could turn on versions)

I wish reviews had a succinct way of letting us know which apps fully support all of Lion's features as opposed to just not crashing on the beast ;-)

For solving this problem:
Search google for snapseed save. resolution. photosync
And by the way, where did you find that Ron Paul icon? I'd like to look for it. Thanks!
