I was impressed after I tried it. A big Con for me is the lack of dual monitor support as I like to have image organization on one monitor and editing on another.

It's good to see Corel finally playing in this arena. Both Apple and Adobe can use the competition. That said, I am currently testing the Lightroom 4 beta and in my opinion it's a really kick-ass program. I'm more likely to spend my scarce resources for the Lightroom upgrade when it comes out than anywhere else. But I wish Corel well, nonetheless. Unfortunately, Apple and especially Adobe have a big head start. Catching up with them won't be easy.

About the cons mentioned:
- "Mediocre sharpening tools": With free plugin i.e. Wavelet Sharpen I find it better than competition.
- "Lack of import tool...": It is there hidden in batch jobs as "Download"

$100 !!!?
that's how Corel trying to compete with PSE, the best of the best, which is only $80, and from time to time even $50 either on Adobe website or Amazon download...????
For about 15 years I use PSE very happily.
Should I even try Corel stuff if it's offered for the ridiculous $100 ? No.
BUT.. I'll try it when Corel gets down to earth, and get more realistic and serious and price their very new player in photo editing field, not at $80, and not at $70.
The REALISTIC price for the new player is $50 or even $40.
This can be as an introductory price fro say, one month..two months, and after that $60-$70.
Pixelmator for example is about $40. Corel shouldn't be more.

Aftershot Pro does not compete with PSE, but Lightroom. Corel PSP competes with PSE.
