I find that the new version of Address Book is very confusing or it is full of bugs.

I really have a difficult time figuring out the buttons and looking for a contact is something that I have to hit two or three buttons to figure out what they mean as it is not intuitive to me. I end up losing all my added data and starting over again.

I think it is if you use Time Machine or some other form of a backup system.

puertoricanmac,
Thanks, Too bad, because there is nothing about the new version that I like. It is a giant leap backwards.

If you're talking about the new Address Book in Lion — I don't think I've ever found anyone who found it an improvement. It's skeuomorphism run amok. They actually removed useful functionality so they could make it look more like a "real" Address Book, for some reason.

Anyway, the good news is that Mountain Lion improves on this. It doesn't ditch the new design, but it does at least make it more functional. The three-pane view is back, for instance.
