It seems Apple are having issues with Messages and have taken it down for the time being...

Just a minute ago downloaded, installed and sent a message (actually a few messages to and fro) to my wife to her iPhone
Works like a charm. Hope it can be installed on my Dads core duo iMac on Snow leopard (shame Lion can't be installed on it.

the download worked very well, but how do we keep track of updates to the beta? the original download page or via software update?

Does it support Screen Sharing, like iChat?

Does it still do screen sharing? That's the one thing that keeps me using iChat rather than FaceTime.

What I don't understand is why I have to reboot my mac to install this.

To me as a 30+ year user of *nix systems, it is ridiculous (and disturbing) when anything other than an operating system update requires a reboot.

OSX is getting more like windoze everyday and that is a scary thought.

Works like a charm for me aswell!
The only thing is that i cant see the same messages sent and recieved on my mac on my iPhone, anyone knows why ?
