what's sad is that none of these alternate music players have buttons to jump ahead or back 10, 20, or 30 seconds. would be handy to skip to middle of song, or skip commercials in podcasts, etc.

the only one that i know of is called "Skip Ahead", but it hasn't been updated since october 2010.

No mention of Ecoute or Bowtie?

Wouldn't it be easier to just press F7 or F9 on your keyboard to skip tracks without having to reach for the mouse to click on a program? The iTunes dock icon provides transport controls if you feel the need to reach for a mouse. Better than running an unnecessary program that takes up memory.

This was a review of Skip Tunes. We did review Bowtie last year, though.

That may be your preference, but some people prefer the mouse, and many people keep the Dock hidden (or they're using another audio player, such as Spotify or Rdio). Based on the popularity of menu-bar utilities like this, it's something a good number of people want.
