Barnes & Noble took flak for its fine print...
The word "flak" is an abbreviation of the German Flugabwehrkanone (cf. <http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flugabwehrkanone>).

Good for us! Having read the negative reviews of the Samsung Note I'll say this-
1. If I didn't have $500 for an iPad I'd rather a $199 7" Nook Tablet for reading or viewing content than the 5" Note for $299.
2. If I was in the market for a smart phone and didn't want an iPhone I'd get a low cost/no cost phone and this versus the Note.
I gifted my iPad 1 and will still wait for iPad 3. If it is so stunning in Retina Display, etc I'll get one but am just as likely to pick up the iPad 2 models coming out in the $349 range if that rumor has any credence.
