Does anybody know if I can upload an animated gif as my Facebook profile pic?

I have some animated GIF files. These open normally in a browser window (i.e., animation works), but when I insert them in html emails (Yahoo! Mail) or documents (Google Docs), they either don't render at all or appear only as still images.
I have successfully inserted GIF's as described above before -- but via copying-&-pasting the images from webpages (i.e, not from stored GIF files).
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to get the GIF's I have as stored files to render properly (including, with animation) in html emails or documents?
Thanks.

To be picky, the frame delay is NOT 1+X*1000, it is 1000 / X, where the result is the answer in milliseconds per frame.

Thanks for the advice, Chris.
I found this article via a Google search. I bought GIFBrewery as you recommend. I filmed a sequence on my iPhone 5 of me holding up a rubber brain and spinning it. I set the Loop in GIFBrewery to play the clip 2 times then stop.
I added the result of the About page on my site...

Thanks again!
