From what I understand Paypal is going to charge only 1.75% NOT 2.75% and still enable you earn 1% back.
In addition the funds will be deposited into your paypal account immediately which you can withdraw immediately. This will be nice for vendors who need to resupply on the fly as inventory goes down.

I concur. This solutions are all "US"-Only. Most of the world uses chip-Systems and debit-cards. Actually, when I recently renewed my credit card, my european bank issued me one without a magnetic stripe. I had to specifically request one for my travels to the US, for an additional fee. The bank clerk told me, that this is because of widespread fraud with magnetic stripes.
So, my first thought, when I saw how many payment providers there are and how easy it is to set it up, this is perfect for fraud! Acquire stripe data of a number of cards, register a bogus account, swipe your doublets and cash in. I'd be interested how those payment providers handle credit card fraud. It's not only an issue for those who get their cards stolen, but also for small businesses who accept a fraudulent card.

I use Square and PayAnywhere. They both require your Social Security number, and you have to wait for "approval" to begin using their systems. Plus, the IRS requires them to report your (credit card) transactions at $20,000 for a calendar year. I'd say the chances of fraud by using these systems would be pretty tough. Since they require Geolocation Tagging that shows up on every transaction, I'm sure it would lead police right to their front door.

doesn't matter what emails you have, doesnt even matter if you have a phone call recording of the person saying they loved the product... if they charge it back through their bank, paypal takes it from you.
Paypal is NOT a wise choice...

"LightSpeed"
http://www.lightspeedretail.com/
It allows the use of the Linea-Pro credit card scanner on an iPod Touch or iPhone and actual customer signature right on the screen.
We've used LightSpeed since 2007 and really like it. Plus, the company is in Canada, so your support is excellent in both English and French.
