I use my iPad in the kitchen and use the app papprika, it's so convenient. There's an app for the iPhone for when I'm at the store and need some shopping lists for the week. Also an app for the Mac for easier recipe entry. One of the best apps I've ever bought. I love using the iPad in the kitchen, put on some music and cook away while looking at recipes. I use the Berlin fridge mount on my cabinets. ^_^ http://www.belkin.co...oduct_Id=557465

THIS is a dedicated kitchen tablet:
http://www.onlyfun.t...ein-neues-ipad/

It's in German, but quite self-explanatory...
Daughter: "How's it going with the new iPad we gave you to your birthday?"
Dad: "oh, great, using it all the time".
Daughter: "Can you handle the apps?"
Dad: "Which apps?"

Don't forget the fabulous, Cooking for Geeks by Jeff Potter. Science and food: noohing goes better together. Except maybe coffee and chocolate.

I love Mark Bittman's How To Cook Everything apps.

Indeed, a great app. Cloud syncs as well and works just as well on the iPhone for cooking too (I don't have an iPad). I use ShopShop for all my groceries because I do all that just using the iPhone and I bought it before Paprika came out. I can't shop without a list!

Do any of these work with Mac recipe managers such as MacGourmet, SousChef, YummySoup, etc? I currently have a fairly extensive number of collected recipes in MacGourmet, and I'd love to be able to make them more accessible in the kitchen. Unfortunately, it appears that Advenio's own MacGourmet app for the iPad no longer syncs with its Mac counterpart.

You folks missed one use for the iPad in the kitchen: as a cutting board.... watch this clip from a German sitcom.

[Translation:
daughter asks, "how are you doing with the new ipad you got for your birthday?'
papa says, "Good!"
daughter asks, "Do you understand all the apps?"
papa says, "What apps?"]
The action is transparent... and LOL funny....
