What type of controllers can you use on Mac?

Hey,

I've tried an xbox controller couldn't seem to get it working as you can see the post below this

So I'm wondering what kind of controllers work on a mac?

Do PC ones work the same as on mac, If it helps I'm playing Cod4 on my mac.

I am wondering the same thing for use w/Steam? but here you don't get much particiaption.

Feral games support over 35 different pads including the 360 gamepad and the PS3 pad (in fact via adapters you could use a gamecube pad if you wish

). Gamepad support is a per game feature that the developers need to make work. You can use an application like Gamepad Companion to add support to games without pad support although in some cases the controls don't work as well as expected.

The 360 gamepad is the only gamepad that requires drivers to work on Mac OS X. If you google you will find some open source 360 drivers by Tattieboggle.

So is it possible then to use a ps3 controller and game on Steam? Tf2, l4d etc.

I've heard of people using X-Box and PS3 controllers for PC games before. These are usually games that are made for gaming consoles, as well as PC. Take Portal for example, I know it was released for the PlayStation as well as the PC, so the controls match up accordingly when you plug a game controller in. If a game was ONLY designed for the PC computer & keyboard, it may not work with a controller.

So in theory I can use my PS3 controllers for Team Fortress 2 on Mac with Steam?? How do I connect the controller to my Mac? Must I use a USB controller or can I use the OEM DUALSHOCK3? Thaankyou!!
