bildschrmschonerbirdhouseD.tmp pug in?

My browser (Safari 5.1.5) shuts down after awhile and I am left with a message that it is because of this bildschrmschonerbirdhouseD.tmp plug in. Any idea what this is and how I get rid of it.

This is a manifestation of the Flashback malware that's been getting a lot of press lately. You'll want to get the last version of Apple's Java security update which allegedly includes a tool to eliminate it. Alternatively, you can do it manually by following the instructions here:

Thank you very much bastion. I ran the Java update as you suggested and I did indeed have the Flashback malware. I am now rid of it and everything is normal.
