Good article, tks. One thing? The Trim function on Quicktime hasn't worked for me since I upgraded to Lion. Judging from various forums at Apple and elsewhere, my experience isn't unique. Many people are finding that Quicktime has become useless for them as a super-basic trimming-and-editing tool. Time for some indignation, as well as a Macworld investigative report, no?

Thanks for the informative post. Btw, you can use Binfer to send the video files to someone if they turn out to be too large for email attachments.

If it is Short and Sweet, email from Photo Booth is faster.

It is easier to do the same thing in Photo Booth>Movie mode. Hover over your movie to see the trim mode. The Mail icon is right there after you create your little movie. If you don't use Mail, drag the movie to your desktop and attach it to your mail client.

I certainly agree with the comments about it being far easier to do this sort of thing in Photo Booth. I tested two very similar messages to check file size, and Photo Booth is much more "efficient" on that score as well. In fact, I'd think you folks might want to run a sort of "correction" on making QuickTime Player the suggested method to do this stuff. Test it at your end, and I'm confident you'll agree...
