I want to buy a portable (with internal rechargeable battery) speaker dock for my iPhone 4. I would really like to find one that has a dock connector that is designed to plug in even if the iPhone has a case on. In this case me and my significant other have the Incipio Silicrilic and Silicrilic Kickstand cases. Are there speaker docks out there that can dock an iPhone that has a fairly standard case on it?

I think the only way you will get music out of the phone with a case on it, is through the headphone audio out jack. My wife and I have had a few cases for iPod, iPhone and iPad, and every case had to be removed in order for it to dock.
That's why my iPad is naked, why the car iPod is naked in the dash and why I use a headphone line cable wit h the iphone to pipe out audio to a small speaker system.
Another option, though expensive is to have bluetooth audio.
Still doesn't give you docking and keeping the device charged. But, as far as I know, I have yet to hear of a docking solution that allows a case. You'd need a dock that has various inserts probably and leave the inserts out. The old ones used to accommodate various iPod formats, ... but they were firewire. While the phones are USB charging.

That is a good find right there. I guess the solution to the problem is a dock that does not hug the device. The drawback is that you are likely to easily damage the protruding dock port.

and because it could fit with case, the price might be a little higher... lol.... like you are going to pay for the convenience since you dont have to remove the case...

check out Amazon .."iphone 30 pin extension".. and you'll find extenders that allow you to connect your phone to a dock without removing the case... They range from a short ( about 1 inch rigid extension) to corded verities that would allow the phone to lay on a counter next to the speaker system... At least it opens up options...!!
