It sounds like people are over eager to pay almost $1,600 for one on one help & to be physically present at general help sessions. I always thought that the West Coast was behind the Great Plains Area. Now that is official because Apple did not wait for them.

That's kinda funny, being on the west coast I always felt the same way about the location of the east coast. also, FYI, most computers have an alarm clock function now, which when set properly can wake you up early enough to buy tickets. It's a feature!

...WWDC 2012 tickets sell out in two hours...

I guess people didn't heed David Morgenstern (ZDNet) when he wrote his opus, "To WWDC or not to WWDC, that is the question"

As someone who has went to almost all of these, I can tell you it's a complete waste of money. You are much better waiting for the videos...

Apple engineers don't answer any questions, they just say "we are not allowed to comment on that".

Most of the sessions are full and you cannot get into them... unless you leave the previous session 30 minutes early to wait in line.

Apple makes a lot of money off of WWDC, and honestly, I got fed up a few years ago when all I wanted to do was know how to do the "new smooth metal" look that was in Leopard... "We cannot comment on that".

So... if you didn't get tickets, trust me, you're not missing out.

If they were a waste of time, I doubt the conferences would sell out as fast they do, and when you absurdly claim that the engineers don't answer any questions, one has to take your advice with a grain of salt. Perhaps you should ask questions related to engineering as opposed to when the next iOS or iPhone is coming out.

OK, now the obvious question...If WWDCs are a waste of money, why did you go to almost all of them?

I went last year and had many questions for the engineers in the labs... I found that there are really only one or two who really know what's going on... the other engineers that were there were just "filler" until they could ask the guys who really knew anything. Wait for the videos on line and you will be saving a ton of money.

Of course, I'm only saying this because I am on the west coast and didn't get a ticket...

To set an alarm clock, don't you have to know which day to get up?

Seems like Apple should announce a date and time tickets will go on sale a few days in advance so everyone has an equal chance to get tickets.

Is it you who is posting the same complaint every year? I answered this last year. If you stop asking about things that are not yet released, Apple engineers will answer your questions just fine. This is why the lines to the labs are long every year - because they're useful. And if you don't waste time between sessions, it's easy to get into them. You certainly don't have to leave the previous session early. I've never been refused a session (and I go to the popular ones) and I've never had to leave a previous session early. Maybe if you stop filling up on Skittles and fancy juice and go get in line instead, you'll get in.

And no, Apple doesn't make a lot of money off of WWDC. It's very expensive to put on a conference. $1599 for a five day conference is one of the cheapest I've seen.
