Too bad the company hasn't after all this time provided a "silent startup" feature in MyTalk. You're stuck with a stupid voice at maximum volume annoyingly proclaiming "I'm activated. Ready for action!" when you power the speaker on. Now, I don't know about you, but the fact that this "cool" gimmick still can't be turned off after many, many requests from users who have compained about it makes me hesitant to purchase anything else from this company that ignores its customers. I like my speakers to make loud noises only when I turn up the volume and I shouldn't have to remember to hold down the round button to disable it when I turn it on. At the very least put a warning label on it, "BE WARNED. JUST TURNING ON YOUR JAMBOX WILL AWAKEN DOGS, CATS, CHILDREN AND NEIGHBORS. USE AT YOUR OWN PERIL!"
It's surprising this annoyance is glossed over by the reviewer.

All you need to do is hold the volume down button while you turn the jam box on then it will turn on silently! this feature has been around for ages, perhaps you need to update the speaker online!

Their customer service has obviously improved. I wasn't planning on writing anything here until I saw someone's negative comment about their "customer service." I pre-ordered my Big Jambox on day 1 (May 1st) with a pre-orders shipping date rumored to be May 9th, slightly ahead of the in-stores launch date of May 15. I received my "Shipping Confirmation" email on May 9 and even though it said "...you'll find tracking information below" there was no tracking # and the fedex link merely brought you to the fedex tracking page and asked for a #.

Irritated, I replied to this obviously "auto-generated" email, lightly scolding them that indeed, there was in fact NO "tracking information" below...from that point, customer service was, on a scale of 1-10....a perfect 10. The next morning, I received a personal, apologetic phone call from Jawbone rep letting me know he'd just located and forward to me my tracking number....I was very impressed....anybody can make mistakes, but it seemed obvious to me they were already aware of theirs and were pro-actively working on fixing it....

"... it mostly disappoints, especially outside, where it doesn't sound better than a mobile phone speaker."

I just spent the afternoon at the pool with my Jambox, and I can't believe anyone can make such a claim--how ridiculously untrue this statement is! I used it with my iPhone, and the Jambox is incomparably louder outside.

It's these sort of wacko statements that make me very cautious when reading such things on the Internet...
