Very informative article... They've just released Google+ 'On Air' Hangouts to the general public today as well -- http://googleblog.bl...dcast-your.html

I somewhat disagree... A Facebook manual would easily double the space used for this article.
And while Google+ has many features, you can always just show up, type in your thoughts (if you want), scroll down and leave -- if you would like to do more than that though, read on.

As a business executive and Internet manager for multiple legitimate, long standing businesses both wholesale and retail, I find Google+ to be a complete nuisance. When it was optional, it was fine to simply bypass and ignore it.
It's as though the Google+ designers are all teenagers who have nothing more to do than network with friends, aging Facebookers. If you are handling a important business position, you don't want to have any of your Internet locations to be linked by a personal name. What happens when that person (that name) leaves the company? FB solved this by having it possible to create business pages without a personal profile. Where does that leave Google - unfortunately all the great Google products are now blocked for businesses who won't create a Google+ using a personal name.
Now that Google+ is required, it is the worst idea I have seen on the Internet in years.
