I play NJ a lot at the expert level. I used to be pretty good in college, doing well in a few tournaments and winning small sums in friendly matches. Don't know if I lost that much skill over the years or if I was never that good, because NJ beats me at least 4 out of 5 matches to 13. It sure seems like it cheats or is extremely lucky, but that's what people used to say about me (extremely lucky anyway). Still, I read their defense and it is solid. The AI really is that good. If you are not a very good player, you will definitely want to stick to the lower levels or it will get terribly frustrating real fast.

Cool, this looks like fun! I used to play this as a kid with my family, but the wonders of modern technology mean that I can play by myself if no-one is around to play with me This is awesome!

This one is pretty good, but if you want a truly good app, check out Backgammon Masters on App Store. I'm playing it for more than 6 months. Frequent updates, lots of players, it's great.
