Is there a way to right-click (control-click) a mail item and generate/create an event from the mail item in iCal or BusyCal?

Or you could just hit Backspace or Delete ... not sure what the magic is here.

Lol, yeah I agree. I'm not sure what the advantage is for control+h, over just hitting the delete key. The latter keyboard shortcut feels more awkward.

And to permanently erase any message in Mail, use Control-X. But be careful because if you hold the keys down a bit too long, the command will delete the next message as well. Fortunately Undo will retrieve the erased messages.

Why, why, why are these all separate programs for Mac? I've always found it so cumbersome. Forced to use Outlook for Mac for convenience. Am I missing something here or does it not make a lot more sense to have them all in the same program. Mail and addresses as separate programs? In what world does that make sense?

If I want to look up Uncle Joe's phone number, why should I go to an email program to do that? If I want to send my sister-in-law a fruit basket, why should I go to an email program to get her address?

It's not as if the all-in-one approach is easier; it takes just as many clicks to do things in Outlook as it does with Mail and iCal and Address Book. And Outlook takes more time to launch by itself than all three of the other apps together.
And now a word from our lawyers.
