How about letting us sort by size to delete the largest files easily?

Really wish Google would provide a preference were as you could send a email to the servers to be delivered later a certain time. I know about boomerang but would prefer that Google institute it.

I would suggest not using the "away" message. That's only an invitation to someone with nefarious intent that then knows you will be gone.

Is there a way to see oldest mail first. I keep reading that is not possible but they are dated posts. Any improvements? Just like you have here in the comment section, you can sort by oldest or newest. Thanks

I use "findbigmail.com" - it works great and has been free for me. It creates new labels in your gmail (for example "FindBigMail > 5mb") that quickly and easily sort the largest messages which you can delete if you want with ease.

Cheers!

I use Thunderbird most of the time. I have it set up to retrieve my mail from Gmail, Yahoo Mail, MobilMe Mail, etc. All in one client. I don't have to go to multiple web sites and use their clunky web interfaces.

Power tip would be "Get Sparrow".

I would imagine that there is a problem with this implementation, because when you say oldest, is it oldest in the last hour, day, week? The past keeps retreating and stacking up so to speak, but the future isn't there yet so new mail keeps just flowing in at the top.
Not that it wouldn't be possible, but perhaps it would be cumbersome in Gmail's case with having to implement rules in an internet based email application.
