Instacast - Playlists not working? How can I get all episodes in a podcast to play?

I recently downloaded Instacast hoping it would allow me to download multiple podcasts, put them in a single playlist arranged from oldest to newest and play them in order while I drive. Instacast does everything except the last part... Once an episode is complete it just stops playing, it never starts playing the next episode. Is there a trick to get Instacast to play everything that is in a playlist? If not, how is it a 'playlist'?

Thanks!!

To do that, you need a badly-documented feature called continuous playback.
Yes, it's available in the baseline version of Instacast:
In the black play screen, you can slide up a row of buttons from below.
The 4th button is an arrow with three modes:
  • Per default, it's off. Playback stop after each episode.
  • Press it once, and playback continues with the next item in your list.
  • Press it twice, and playback continues with the previous item in the list.

Hope this helps future users too; finding this out took far longer than I would have liked.

Continuous playback is no longer available in playlists. And yes, that defeats the point of a playlist.

Now they have a feature called Up Next, which you can curate like a playlist by holding down on a track. But you also automatically add to Up Next whenever you play a new track. Now you will need to take more time and care to make sure your continuous playback will feature tracks you want. To be clear, there is no more option of maintaining separate, unique playlists, each of which you can play continuously.
