iPod Touch playlist hang repeats song on playlist

My Touch, running SW Verion 4.2.1 just starting hanging on a tune in any playlist without moving to the next song when it's done.
Everything else seems OK. I can manually move to the next song.

I've done an iTunes backup and restore, which didn't help.

I guess I could do a restore and manually rebuild the apps and songs.
But I'd like to avoid that if anyone has a better idea.
